Prayer

Collect

Almighty and everlasting God,

you have given us your servants grace,

by the confession of a true faith,

to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity

and in the power of the divine majesty to worship the Unity:

keep us steadfast in this faith,

that we may evermore be defended from all adversities;

through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,

who is alive and reigns with you,

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, now and for ever.

Suggestions for prayer this week

Let us pray for the world, for the church, and let us thank God for his goodness. Let us encourage one another to go deeper into prayer and to persevere.

Immediate needs: Ukraine; those struggling with rising costs; the repercussions of climate change and recent extreme weather.

World Watch List: Christians in Algeria (19th highest area of religious persecution)

Deanery Cycle of Prayer: St Lawrence’s and Church of the Ascension, Abbot’s Langley; Watford Foodbank.

Those with on-going needs.

St Luke’s family in need.

Our wider family and friends in need.

Those in mourning: all those we know mourning loved ones at this time.

Giving Thanks: answers to prayer that we have seen.

Please update the office regarding any prayer needs or answered prayer.

Please pick up an Ascension-Advent Prayer Diary from the back of church for your daily prayers
