Revd Bryony Wood visited St Luke’s over the weekend of 14th–15th June to share some reflections from her book, The Sound of Musings.
Published in 2024, The Sound of Musings was aptly timed to tie in with the 60th anniversary of the film, The Sound of Music. In her book, Bryony traces Maria von Trapp’s journey through the film, drawing parallels with her own life and faith: the ups and downs and times of doubt.
At both the Saturday afternoon presentation and the Sunday morning Father’s Day Service, Bryony read excerpts from her book, interspersed with film clips and a sing-a-long to the much-loved songs.
Additionally, on the Saturday afternoon the Cassiobury and nearby Community Choir (CanCC) sang a medley of classics: Climb every mountain, Do-re-mi and Eidelweiss, and the event finished with a thoroughly enjoyable and beautifully presented tea of scones and apple cake served on best china.
