On Sunday 12th July the Young People’s Takeover Service was on the theme of ‘God never takes a holiday’.
The children and young people led the entire service: music and worship, quiz, prayers, Bible readings and short presentations.
We heard that God is always there when you need someone to turn to, especially when facing times of change.
This Collect prayer was written and read by Reef and fitted perfectly with the theme for the service:
Loving God,
Thank you that you’re always near,
Bringing hope instead of fear.
You never take a day away,
You’re with us every single day.
At home, at school, or far away.
On sunny days or when skies are grey,
You never leave—you choose to stay.
When things are hard and we feel small,
You help us stand, you help us all.
You give us courage, strength and cheer,
Reminding us that you are near.
Help us share your love each day,
In all we do and all we say.
And wherever life may lead us to,
Help us remember we’re walking with you.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
