This summer several of the young people at St Luke’s went to Bethany Houseparty, an 8-day Christian houseparty for youth held at a boarding school in Kent.
The camp is a fun and welcoming place for young people to learn more about God, make many friends and get to be part of a community with the same faith. We do lots of sport, craft and sociable activities as well as having time to relax and chill. There is a service every evening taken by a leader and the theme this year was mountains and valleys.
On some of the days we had a large activity involving everyone, including a wide game, the night walk and my favourite, the barn dance!
The food was delicious. Every day we had a full English breakfast, main meals for lunch and dinner and hot chocolate and sandwiches before bedtime.
It was a wonderful week of friendship, fun and faith, and we were thankful to God for all the leaders who gave up their week to run the camp and for the opportunity to spend time together as a Christian community.

I can’t wait to go again next year!
